10 things I did this year, because I'm seeing...
1) Acquired better music taste
2) Went to sleep away camp for the first time since 6th grade and loved it.
3) Discovered my love and passion for film and screenwriting.
4) Went to This Providence’s ‘Bout Damn Time Tour (their first headliner!)
5) Managed to get better grades than ever.
6) Found tumblr. <3
7) Stopped caring about what other people label as “normal”...

Tumblr shows the different sides of an individual not often shown in person. It’s a personal diary, a blog, and a way to escape reality. You’re behind a computer screen, free of the harsh criticisms faced in everyday life. People vent, bitch, complain, reflect, praise here and it doesn’t mean that they are like that in person. They just need a place where people will listen, for once.

What’s the point of having any dreams at all in this society? America used to be a country where anything could happen, where any dream or hopes you had could be fulfilled and become a reality if you worked hard or wanted it badly enough. Now it’s just about money. If you don’t have enough money, just don’t even bother.

Sometimes when I tell people that I enjoy reading, they look at me like I just killed someone. Why is it so surprising that I read? My sister’s husband said to her “I’m so glad you’re not a reader. It’s so boring.” I don’t understand how reading could possibly be a bad thing to do. I feel sorry for anyone who can’t enjoy the beauty of books.

Thanks mom for telling me my dreams are worth shit and telling me that the only option I have is Rutgers. EVERYONE from Monty is going to that stupid school, which is apparently the best reason for my mother to pester me into considering it. For god’s sake, I’d rather literally shoot myself in the face than go to a school where every other fucking student there is someone from one...
